Human Resource Practitioner Career
The Higher Certificate Human Resource Management Course will allow you to gain the necessary knowledge and skills required for a Human Resource Practitioner career.
Students can complete this course over a three-year period, but dedicated students are usually able to get through all the material in 24 months.
If you would like to enrol for this course, you will require a National Senior Certificate, a Senior Certificate or a National Certificate Vocational (NQF4) – having achieved at least 30% in the language of teaching and learning.
You will need to complete six modules in the course, which include human resource management, business management and employee wellness.
The Human Resource Practitioner works as the eyes and ears of a company, and is the main point of contact for employees who need to discuss work-related issues.
One of the tasks that falls onto the shoulders of this person is the hiring of staff. The Human Resource Practitioner will need to place ads, write up job descriptions, arrange interviews and screen candidates to ensure that the right person is given the opportunity. You will also need to complete all of the paperwork and handle the agreement on compensation.
Training is another responsibility, while the well being of staff must be monitored at all times. This is to ensure that performance does not dip, and that undetected problems do not lead to the loss of key staff.
This position is suited to people who have excellent interpersonal skills as well as have the ability to quickly make important decisions. You also need to be a good communicator.
