Enjoying a senior bookkeeper career requires you to start from the bottom and work your way up – and with IQ Academy’s Bookkeeping Course, you will have the tools to do just that. Our course can be completed within a 3 to 6 month period, with interest free course repayment terms over a 24 month period and is open to people aged 16 or older, that have completed Grade 9 at the least. The senior bookkeeper holds a highly important position at a company and is responsible for a number of important duties in order to keep company finances in check. The senior bookkeeper is also responsible for managing the junior bookkeeper, if the company is large enough to fill both positions. They will also watch over debtors, creditors and payroll – while they need to be able to fulfil all the tasks required for those roles. The senior bookkeeper will maintain books and ledgers; oversee payments and do bank reconciliations, pay invoices, issue invoices and monitor payments, as well as provide financial records, documents and reports where required. You will also need to prepare and control budgets to ensure that finances are used efficiently, as well as record day-to-day finances.
