At iQ Academy, we believe that student recognition is just as important as the support we offer our students when they study with us. One of the ways in which we do that is by celebrating and awarding the top graduates in each of our Higher Certificate programmes namely Business Management, Human Resources Management and Marketing Management.
These Top Achiever Awards are usually announced during our annual Higher Certificate Graduation ceremony. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and national lockdown, our 2020 graduation ceremony was postponed indefinitely during late March this year. However, we still wanted to make sure our Top Achievers got their accolade so we decided to make the announcement online!
A huge congratulations to the following graduates who have risen to the top of their respective programmes as the iQ Academy Top Achievers 2020. Each student will receive a prestigious certificate and a well-deserved place in the Top Achiever Alumni. They are:
- Higher Certificate in Human Resources Management – Luyolo Myeko
- Higher Certificate in Marketing Management – Kgothatso Nchabeng
- Higher Certificate in Business Management – Lauren Naidoo
They passed all their modules in the first attempt; obtained distinctions in all their modules (75% or higher) and achieved the highest average mark in their respective programmes.
Higher Certificate in Human Resources Management – Luyolo Myeko
Luyolo, who hails from a small rural Eastern Cape town called Sterkspruit, works in the Private Security Industry. Since graduating from iQ Academy, he has been promoted from Security Officer to Senior Security Officer, where he is now leading 13 other security officers and oversees his own business unit. His goal is to further educate himself so that he could one day become a successful HR manager. According to Luyolo, he wanted to enter the HR field, and his Higher Certificate qualification was an affordable way to do so.
As a shift worker, he made excellent use of his time and resources, as he studied during downtime in his shifts and also made use of the community library to access the internet.
Higher Certificate in Marketing Management – Kgothatso Nchabeng
Kgothatso’s dream is to be a success in the world of business but understands that all great accomplishments originate in humble beginnings. For her, it started with a Higher Certificate at iQ Academy, and he plans to continue studying in future.
Kgotathso has words of advice to fellow students, as follows: “Studying on your own means one has to develop discipline. This involves respecting and staying true to the time set aside for studying, and for me, this is the approach that contributed to me receiving the Top Achiever Award”.
Higher Certificate in Business Management – Lauren Naidoo
Lauren is a full-time employee in the accounting industry and does bookkeeping, payroll administration and office administration. She registered for a Higher Certificate at iQ Academy as she wanted to attain an accredited qualification in business management. She says: “I studied a Higher Certificate in Business Management with iQ Academy as the programme comprised of a diverse range of modules, which would adequately prepare me to be competent and knowledgeable in the workplace”.
Juggling working full-time whilst studying part-time, Lauren contributes her success to being disciplined, focused and consistent in her approach to her studies. Lauren has the following words of advice to fellow students: “After reading the textbooks and study guides, I would attempt to answer the assignments by preparing draft copies and then final copies. This activity helped me absorb the knowledge learnt faster and made it easier to remember information for the exams”.
We wish our Top Achievers every success in their future!
We know that with continued hard work and dedication they will realise their dreams and achieve their goals!
