iCan is iQA’s online learning portal
Students are encouraged to make full use of iCan as primary way to:
- View academic content
- Participate in academic activities
- Engage with your tutor
- Download/upload assignments
- View assignment results
- View account information
Through advances in internet-based technologies and access to connectivity, we have created dynamic platforms to encourage one-on-one interaction between students and tutors and facilitate student communities where challenges, questions, and topics of interest can be discussed.
iCan is accessible through PCs, tablets, smartphones, etc. and can be accessed at: https://ican.iqacademy.ac.za/
Do I need to do anything before I can use iCan?
- You need to be a registered iQ Student
- You need access to the internet and a valid email address to use iCan.
How do I access iCan?
You can access iCan through your PC, laptop, tablet, or smart phone. Please go to http://ican.iqacademy.ac.za and enter the username and password that was sent to you via SMS.
What do I do if I cannot remember my password?
If you cannot remember your password or username please select ‘Forgot your username or password’ on the Login page. You will then be asked to enter your username or email address. If the details entered match our records, we will email you instructions on how to reset your password. Please note that the email sent expires after 30 minutes for security reasons.
Why is my iCan account suspended?
iCan access will be suspended if:
- your account has been handed-over for collection purposes
- you have been deregistered;
- you have completed your studies and received your certificate

Where are the academic activities that I am supposed to do?
Academic activities such as quizzes and discussion forums have been placed with your module chapters and lessons. You will be able to access these activities as you progress through the different chapters in your module.
Where can I view my account information?
Select the ‘My Account’ option from the top menu bar to view account information.
You will see information regarding your contract, including contract number and installment. You will also be able to see your profile information.
How do I access student policies?
Select ‘Student Policies’ from the top menu bar. You will be presented with a list of policies. Please select the relevant one. The policy will open in PDF in a new tab.
